Reese Witherspoon Shares Throwback from When She Took a Filmmaking Course at the Age of 18

It seems that Reese Witherspoon has always felt herself drawn to the entertainment world.

When she was only seven years old, Witherspoon appeared in a television spot for a local florist, which inspired her to begin acting classes. At the age of only 14, she had her feature film debut. Then, when she was a college student at Stanford University, Witherspoon ended up dropping out so that she could pursue a career in acting.

Now, we can easily say that the whole acting thing worked out pretty well for The Morning Show star. And Witherspoon must have been feeling nostalgic because she recently made a post to her Instagram looking back at her life when she was eighteen years old.

The photos she shared were taken from a filmmaking course she took through the Sundance Institute. In the caption, Witherspoon said, “Remembering the amazing time I had at Sundance Filmmakers Lab: 1994. This program is such a gift to aspiring filmmakers.”

Witherspoon continued, saying, “ I was only 18, but I remember vividly that week...discussing movies, learning about filmmaking and how to capture stories on film. A wonderful time I will always cherish. #sundancefilmakerslab.”

It turns out Witherspoon isn't the only high-profile actress who completed the course. 2 Broke Girls star Kat Dennings said, “I was in this program!!! The best week ever.” Meanwhile, ER actress Julianna Margulies said, “Awwww! I did it in ‘95 and loved it too.”

In the strip of film that Witherspoon shared, she appears to be dressed like a bride, and the first image looks like it features National Lampoon's Vacation star Beverly D'Angelo.

This is not the first time the Legally Blonde actress has reminisced on her Instagram account. Just a couple weeks ago, Witherspoon shared a photo from when she was only fourteen and nabbed her acting gig in the coming-of-age drama The Man in the Moon.

“A kind person on Twitter reminded me that 30 years ago, my very first movie came out,” she said. “It was a movie called Man In the Moon and I was 14 years old. I had no idea the journey that lay ahead of me, but I am so deeply grateful for all the ups and the downs that brought me to this moment. I learned from All of them.”
