If you're looking for the perfect summer read—complete with ghosts and juicy family secrets—then you might want to consider Reese Witherspoon’s latest book recommendation.

Last week, Witherspoon announced on Instagram that her July pick for Reese’s Book Club is The Cliffs by J. Courtney Sullivan. The Legally Blonde actress, 48, shared a series of pics, including a selfie with the book, and wrote, "If you stumbled upon a curiously abandoned house, would YOU go inside? Our July @reesesbookclub pick, #TheCliffs by @jcourtsullivan follows main character Jane’s journey as she uncovers the past lives of a home. It’s an entrancing spin on a generational novel and filled with mystery."

The post also features a short clip of Witherspoon raving about the book. She says, "This book is really good. There's so many mysteries inside that house."

Sullivan also shared the exciting news on her personal page during the book's launch day. She wrote, "Reese Witherspoon is such a force for good in the world of books. I was elated and so honored when I learned she had chosen The Cliffs as her July @reesesbookclub pick. Today is pub day and I am over the moon to finally be able to share this news, especially because keeping secrets is not my specialty." I am so grateful to my team at @aaknopf and @thebookgrp, to superstars @jennyjacksonpineapple and @brettne, to everyone who has spread the word about this book, and everyone who helped along the way."

Published on July 2, the fiction novel tells the story of Jane, a Harvard archivist who returns to an abandoned Victorian house she discovered as a teenager. Although the mysterious building has since been renovated, it contains a century’s worth of secrets—and Jane is certain that it's haunted.

As it turns out, Witherspoon isn't the only one who loved this book. Fans who've already picked up the novel are raving about it on social media. One person wrote, "Almost done with the second chapter 'Genevieve,' already in love with the characters." Another added, "Loved this tale…you are a wonderful storyteller!"

Looks like I'll be adding this one to my ever-growing bookshelf.
