Queen Máxima, 52, turned heads with her dazzling attire earlier this month. The queen of the Netherlands wore a ruby ballgown and a stunning tiara for a state banquet held at the Royal Palace in Amsterdam. Take a closer look below.
Queen Máxima Just Re-Wore a Dazzling Tiara and Ruby-Colored Gown (and We Still Love Them)
A royal repeater
Per Hello! Magazine, the Dutch queen had a floor-length gown designed by Costarellos, a ready-to-wear fashion brand based in Athens, Greece. According to the Court Jeweller, she actually wore this same exact dress at a state dinner in Greece back in 2022. We love to see a royal repurposing a gorgeous gown and jewels.
To refresh our memories, the long-sleeve gown features ruby lace and velvet panelling throughout, which she paired with the Mellerio Ruby Parure tiara. According to Hello!, the statement piece was crafted for Queen Emma of The Netherlands in 1888.
She also wore drop earrings, bracelets and a corsage ornament mimicing the diamonds and rubies displayed on the tiara. The Dutch queen also sported a sash and star of the Order of Diplomatic Service Merit in honor of their guests. And let's not forget her gorgeous wedding ring (that is considered the eighth most expensive royal ring, FYI).
Now, this isn't the first time the Dutch queen has re-worn an outfit or jewels. Back in 2021, she sported a gorgeous embroidered gown that she previously wore in 2017 for her husband's 50th birthday. Look, if the gown was custom-made by our favorite designer we would wear it a couple of times too.
At the state banquet, the queen was joined by her husband King Willem-Alexander, 56. They welcomed their guests, South Korean President Yoon Sul Yeol and Korean First Lady Kim Keon Hee, who were visiting the country. The visit came a few weeks after they were hosted by Queen Camilla and King Charles III on Nov. 21 (where Queen Camilla was seen wearing ruby jewelry pieces, too).
A royal covered in rubies? 10 out of 10.
