Buckingham Palace revealed this morning that Queen Elizabeth has tested positive for COVID-19.
Per Deadline, a statement from the Palace said the 95-year-old monarch is only experiencing "mild cold-like symptoms." It continued, "She will continue to receive medical attention and will follow all the appropriate guidelines."
Royal fans around the world were quick to send their well-wishes for a speedy recovery. But even mild duties are continuing to be carried out on the queen's behalf, as evidenced by a personal statement she released on her Instagram account this morning (spoiler: it has nothing whatsoever to do with her positive COVID result).
On the official royal family IG account, the queen wrote, "I send my warmest congratulations to the Team GB Women's Curling team on your outstanding performance in winning the Gold Medal at the Beijing 2022 Olympic Winter Games, following the Silver Medal achieved by the Men's Curling team yesterday."
