Ever since Queen Camilla missed the Remembrance Day festivities due to an illness, royal aficionados have been waiting for the 77-year-old to resume full duties. She eventually eased back into her schedule when she hosted a reception in an eye-popping headpiece, paid tribute to her late dog and received a major honor from her sister-in-law, Princess Anne. But during a recent state visit, the queen attended only a few events due to that same illness. Luckily, she finally shared a highly anticipated health update.
Queen Camilla Shares Rare Health Update After Missing Some State Visit Events
Get well soon!
This week, Queen Camilla attended a special lunch at Buckingham Palace alongside Prince William, Kate Middleton and her husband, King Charles. The event was part of the state visit for Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani (the Emir of the State of Qatar) and his wife, Sheikha Jawaher bint Hamad bin Suhaim Al Thani.
According to Hello! magazine, Queen Camilla explained why she was absent from the other events during the state visit. The royal revealed that her chest infection was a form of pneumonia, and she’s now experiencing extreme fatigue.
“Some days the queen is on really good form,” a source told the mag. “It’s just one of those things. She has lost the coughing but the lingering side of it is bouts of extreme tiredness. There has to be a degree of flex in the queen’s diary at the moment.”
The palace first revealed the queen’s health issue in early November when she pulled out of the Remembrance Day events at the last minute. At the time, Buckingham Palace released a statement explaining that Queen Camilla was recovering from a chest infection.
Take all the time you need, Camilla.
