Serving as always

Now that spring is in full swing, Queen Camilla has kicked off the new season by swapping out a staple from her royal wardrobe for a bold new choice—and I’m loving this for her.

On May 7, Her Majesty attended the opening of the 50th Coronation Library at the Moreland Primary School in London. At the event, the 76-year-old royal read a children’s book aloud.

And I couldn’t help but notice the queen was wearing a fab new animal print: a bright (and busy) blue peacock dress. While she has worn a leopard print dress on several occasions (like when she hosted a gathering for the Safe Lives Changemakers at Buckingham Palace), this new look is a rare yet nice change for the royal.

The royal family posted photos taken during the queen’s visit on their official Instagram page so royal admirers such as myself were given a full view of her outfit.

The first slide of the post features a photo of the queen talking to a staff member at the primary school. While donning her fierce peacock dress, Queen Camilla paired her stunning ensemble with cream white kitten heel shoes.

In the caption, the royal fam shared interesting deets about the library opening. The Coronation Libraries are part of an initiative that “celebrates Her Majesty’s advocacy for reading” and further emphasizes the “vital importance of libraries in primary schools.”

During her visit, the queen attended an interactive storytelling session with young librarians from different primary schools across London. And if that weren’t enough, the royal also got a chance to hear a poem reading from Joseph Coelho, which he wrote specifically for this occasion.

I’m living for this look, Queen Camilla.
