Queen Camilla Embraces Kate Middleton's Go-To Move at Royal Event

Like mother-in-law, like daughter-in-law

It's safe to say that Queen Camilla has taken several pages out of Princess Catherine's book. For instance, just last month, the queen adopted the princess's trademark parenting move while attending the National Literacy Trust Charity’s 30th anniversary event. And in 2022, the queen followed in her daughter-in-law's footsteps by leaving surprise gifts across the U.K.—much like how Kate Middleton hid copies of her photography book around the country. Now, the 77-year-old royal is embracing yet another go-to move of Middleton's.

On Saturday, Queen Camilla attended day four of the Sky Bet Ebor Festival at York Racecourse in a flattering coat dress from Fiona Clare Couture, a matching white hat and beige pumps. And as much as I admire her elegant outfit, I couldn't help but notice a familiar gesture.

In the above close-up, the royal briefly adjusts her curls by pushing them back with her fingers—a move I've seen Middleton do on quite a few occasions.

For instance, when she attended the Wimbledon finals match last month, she used her fingers to tuck away her hair in a similar fashion.

Additionally, in 2022, when she attended the Wimbledon Championships at The All England Tennis Club, she used both hands to fix her hair while sitting next to her husband, Prince William, in the Royal Box.

As it turns out, Middleton and Queen Camilla aren't the only royals who've used this hair gesture. The Princess of Wales’s oldest son, Prince George, also used the signature move back in May, when he and his dad, Prince William, attended the English FA Cup final at Wembley Stadium. On Twitter, a royal fan shared a photo of the 11-year-old royal adjusting his hair with his hand—just like his mom.

Looks like Kate Middleton's go-to moves are getting more popular by the day.
