It's no secret that Princess Margaret was one of the most stylish royals in history—and the Royal Collection Trust's latest Instagram photo of her is proof. The charity recently shared a throwback photo of the Countess of Snowdon in her wedding dress and she looks absolutely stunning.

According to the post, the photo was taken on May 6, 1960 and Princess Margaret was wearing a Norman Hartnell dress. The caption also explains that the royal couple commissioned British photographer Cecil Beaton to take snapshots of their special day, as well as on several occasions afterwards.
In the striking black and white photo, Princess Margaret is seen sitting down as her large gown billows around her. She also wore a long flowing veil and a sparkling Poltimore tiara, while holding a bouquet of flowers in her hands. As one commenter shared, "Possibly the best royal wedding dress ever."
Lucky for those in the UK, you can catch a closer glimpse of the photo in a new exhibit called the Royal Portraits: A Century of Photography at The King's Gallery. Since May 17, the exhibition showcases the evolution of royal portrait photography from the 1920s to present day, including imagery of Princess Margaret, Queen Elizabeth II, Kate Middleton, King Charles III and more.
While Princess Margaret passed away in 2002, her legacy still lives on through her charities, cultural influence and, of course, her family . Back in March 2023, her granddaughter Lady Margarita Armstrong-Jones was on the cover of Tatler magazine, donning a gorgeous Giambattista Vallie dress.
