I don't know what you did last weekend, but I do know that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle had an exciting one, thanks to their daughter.

The royal couple's youngest child, Princess Lilibet “Lili” Diana Mountbatten-Windsor, turns 3 years old today, but the Sussex family marked the occasion early by having a pre-birthday celebration at their home in Montecito, California. According to People, Harry and Markle invited family, close friends and some of Lili's pals to join them for the birthday party. Further details about the festivities haven't been revealed, but I imagine that Princess Lili had a blast.

Last year, the royal couple's plans for Lilibet's second birthday were kept under wraps, so the family likely had a small, private celebration. However, if you've seen the Netflix docuseries, Harry & Meghan, then you probably remember the home video of baby Lili celebrating her milestone first birthday with friends and family in 2022. At the time, her parents hosted a small backyard picnic at Frogmore Cottage, and the documentary shows Lili blowing out candles on a stunning two-tiered cake.

Claire Ptak made the cake through her baking company, Violet Cakes London, and shared a close-up of her creation on Instagram. She wrote, "The inside was the Amalfi lemon and elderflower cake I created for the Duke and Duchess’s wedding in 2018, but this time we covered it with a strawberry buttercream specially for Lilibet."

Ptak also followed up with a photo of the preparation process and added, "It was an absolute pleasure to make this special cake last week for Lilibet’s birthday. Wishing her a very happy year ahead!"

Markle and Prince Harry welcomed Lilibet in California, shortly after they stepped down as working members of the royal family, and she's the youngest of two. The pair also share a son, Prince Archie (5), who was born at the Portland Hospital in London.

Markle has opened up about her kids on a few occasions, but just three weeks ago, she shared a sweet mother-daughter bonding moment. Per People, during her visit to Lightway Academy, she told the students, “Our daughter, Lili, she’s much, much tinier than you guys. She’s about to turn 3. A few weeks ago, she looked at me and she would just see the reflection in my eyes. She [said], ‘Mama, I see me in you.’ She was talking really, literally. But I hung onto those words in a very different way. And I thought, yes, I do see me and you, and you see me and you.”

Wishing the happiest of birthdays to Lili!
