Guess how much three dresses previously owned by Princess Diana recently sold for at auction? (Hint: They went for a pretty penny.)

Last week, three garments worn by the former Princess of Wales were put up for auction and sold in Julien’s Auctions and Turner Classic Movies Presents “Legends: Hollywood and Royalty.”

Held in Beverly Hills (and virtually), the auction featured an extravagant red silk gown designed by Bruce Oldfield as well as a black/white velvet gown and a black top with a forest green silk skirt tied at the waist crafted by Catherine Walker.

According to the Daily Mail, the gowns were sold for a total of $1.62 million (£1.3 million). Per the outlet, Diana wore the dresses on three important occasions. She donned the stunning red dress to the movie premiere of Hot Shots! in November 1991—and it was listed for $571,500 (£458,480), while the price was estimated to be $200,000 (£160,450).

Next, the royal rocked the black and white gown—purchased for $571,500 (£458,484)—that same year to a dinner held at the Royal York Hotel in Canada. Lastly, the Catherine Walker black V-neck top with the green skirt—which sold for a total of $508,00 (£407,540)—was worn by the princess to a private engagement.

These are not the only iconic pieces owned by Diana that were put up for auction this year.  Back in June, Sotheby’s announced the iconic red sweater (with the black sheep) famously worn by the royal princess will be put up for auction this fall. Sotheby’s will be accepting bids for the famous sweater from August 31 to September 14. (FYI, Diana was first spotted wearing the sweater in June 1981.)

Another piece of fine jewelry previously worn by Diana was sold to reality television star Kim Kardashian during an auction hosted by Sotheby’s in January. The Skims founder purchased a rare pendant for approximately $197,453.
