Princess Diana’s brother, Charles Spencer, is one of the most underrated royals on Instagram. The 60-year-old historian’s feed is filled with rare childhood snaps and vintage photographs. He even shared a special tribute to Prince Harry in his latest post.
This week, Spencer gave a special shout-out to his nephew, Prince Harry, on social media. He shared a screenshot of a news article and wrote a heartfelt caption in support of the Duke of Sussex.
The caption read, “It takes an enormous amount of guts to take on major media organisations like this, and incredible tenacity to win against them.”
Spencer also thanked Prince Harry for including Princess Diana in the lawsuit. He continued, “It’s wonderful that Harry also secured an apology for his mother—she would be immensely touched by this, I’m sure, and also rightly proud. Well done indeed.”
Spencer’s post was referring to Prince Harry’s ongoing legal battle with The Sun. The royal previously accused the publication of using illegal tactics to dig into his personal life. The Duke of Sussex recently reached a settlement with the outlet and received a personal apology from the owner of News Group Newspapers (NGN), along with former Labour deputy leader Lord Tom Watson.
It read, “NGN offers a full and unequivocal apology to the Duke of Sussex for the serious intrusion by The Sun between 1996 and 2011 into his private life, including incidents of unlawful activities carried out by private investigators working for The Sun. NGN also offers a full and unequivocal apology to the Duke of Sussex for the phone hacking, surveillance and misuse of private information by journalists and private investigators instructed by them at the News of the World.”
