There were a slew of mixed reactions to Prince William’s new look (AKA his new beard), which he debuted during the summer in an IG video congratulating Team GB after the Olympics. But the royal recently revealed that he received a pretty funny one from his daughter, Princess Charlotte.
Per Hello, during an interview, the Prince of Wales shared that his daughter Charlotte was brought to tears by his new beard the first time he grew it out, and he apparently shaved it off to appease the young royal. That explains his new appearance nearly a week later. He stated, "Well Charlotte didn’t like it the first time. I got floods of tears the first time I grew a beard, so I had to shave it off. And then I grew it back." While he hasn't shaven it off completely again, he has given the beard a trim, opting for a cleaner look.
The prince has been sporting the beard for months, even attending several royal duties in the new scruff. Just last week, the monarch made a surprise appearance in Belfast to discuss his campaign on houselessness and the region's creative industries.
