From sneaker-coded clues to nervous ticks, the British royal family has shown some interesting body language over the past few months. Most recently, Kate Middleton and Prince William’s daughter, Princess Charlotte, proved that Prince Louis isn’t the only Wales sibling who’s maturing right before my eyes.
Princess Charlotte's Body Language Offers a Glimpse Into Her Role as a Protective Sister to Prince Louis
She is Kate Middleton's mini-me
Earlier this month, the entire Wales family stepped out for Princess Catherine’s holiday concert, titled “Together at Christmas.” This included the Prince and Princess of Wales, along with their three children, Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, 9, and Prince Louis, 6. Not only did Princess Char look like a mini version of her mother, but she also showed a major shift in body language.
In the past, Princess Charlotte has been shy around large crowds. There were times when she made silly faces and waved at the photographers, but she was usually seen clinging to her mother’s leg. At the holiday concert, the 9-year-old’s body language was far more mature than previous appearances.
When she arrived at Westminster Abbey, Princess Charlotte calmly walked next to her siblings while the photographers snapped photos. She didn’t fidget or mess around with her brothers—instead, she kept her hands at her side and relaxed her shoulders, indicating that she was totally at ease.
Princess Char even offered a glimpse into her close-knit relationship with her younger brother, Prince Louis. She stood beside him like a protective sibling and was ready to intervene if necessary. (Prince Louis does have a habit of causing a scene, after all.)
She’s growing up too fast.
