Currently, Princess Beatrice is ninth in the line of succession, and she’s followed by her daughter, Sienna Elizabeth Mapelli Mozzi, at number ten. Although Beatrice’s sister, Princess Eugenie, previously held the eleventh position, that changed once baby Athena entered the picture.
Princess Beatrice’s newest child has assumed the eleventh position in the British line of succession. As a result, Princess Eugenie lost her spot and was bumped down to number 12. This also affected everyone else who falls behind her, including Eugenie’s two children, August (3) and Ernest (1).
Last year, the royal family announced Princess Beatrice’s second pregnancy in a post on Instagram. It featured two photos of the royal couple and their kids, along with the caption: “Her Royal Highness Princess Beatrice and Mr. Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi are very pleased to announce that they are expecting their second child together early in the new year; a sibling for Wolfie and Sienna.” (FYI, Wolfie is Princess Beatrice’s stepson from Mozzi’s previous relationship.)
It continued, “His Majesty The King has been informed and both families are delighted with the news.”
Then, in February 2025, Buckingham Palace revealed that the royal couple welcomed a baby girl. The statement read, “Her Royal Highness Princess Beatrice and Mr Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi are delighted to announce the safe arrival of their daughter, Athena Elizabeth Rose Mapelli Mozzi, born on Wednesday, 22nd January, at 12:57pm.”
