Princess Anne Was Her Own Glam Squad on Her Latest Royal Tour

Princess Anne is far from high maintenance when she travels. Not only does she choose her own outfits, but she also acts as her own glam squad.

During her latest tour to Australia and Papua New Guinea, the 71-year-old made several decisions that might surprise some royal aficionados because they’re something us plebeians would do.

For example, Princess Anne didn’t bring an entourage. This meant that she was responsible for doing her own makeup and hair for the entire tour, as Hello! magazine points out. The royal stuck with her signature hairstyle, sporting a neat voluminous bin.

The outlet notes that “she’s also believed to not have a fashion stylist or advisor,” unlike other members of the royal family. Therefore, she’d be on her own if a wardrobe malfunction were to occur.

To top it off, Princess Anne and her husband, Sir Tim Laurence, flew to Australia on a commercial plane, not a private jet. The royal also kept the guest list extremely intimate, excluding personal photographers, assistants and other helpers. Instead, Princess Anne opted for the bare minimum. This included security detail for both her and her husband, along with one staff member. That’s it.

Princess Anne’s trip to Australia and Papua New Guinea marked her first royal tour since the coronavirus began. Some could argue that this influenced her decision to have no glam squad. But if Princess Anne were that worried about exposure, then why did she fly commercial? Just saying.
