Today, the 42-year-old prince attended the inaugural Emergency and Critical Care Conference in Birmingham to celebrate his new patronage with the College of Paramedics. Prince William spoke with first responders and delivered a powerful speech about their vital role in the community.
I couldn’t help but notice that the Prince of Wales was sporting a noticeably thicker beard compared to his recent scruff.

Last year, the royal was seen with a clean beard that was trimmed around the edges. But this time, the royal's facial hair was way fuller and darker in color, especially around his mouth. The new beard added a casual vibe to the prince’s demeanor, and I’m not mad about it.
Prince William first debuted his beard back in August 2024 when he appeared in a video with his wife, Kate Middleton. He dabbled with the length over the next few months by giving it a trim and even shaving it altogether.
The Prince of Wales previously revealed that his 9-year-old daughter, Princess Charlotte, was brought to tears by his beard the first time he grew it out—so much so that he shaved it off to appease the young royal.
“Well Charlotte didn’t like it the first time,” he said, according to Hello. “I got floods of tears the first time I grew a beard, so I had to shave it off. And then I grew it back.”
