All eyes were on Prince William, 41, when he stood center stage at the 2023 Earthshot Prize Awards, which took place earlier this month at the Mediacorp Theater in Singapore.
On November 7, the Prince of Wales awarded five recipients with £1 million (estimated $1.1 million) to continue their work to combat climate change. In addition to giving a moving speech, the future king was joined by the likes of Hannah Waddingham, Sterling K. Brown, Cate Blanchett, Lana Condor, Robert Irwin and more.
With an event as big as the Earthshot Prize Awards, we can’t even fathom the amount of work and preparation that goes into making a ceremony of this magnitude a success year after year. So, Prince William decided to give royal enthusiasts a small glimpse into what happens behind the scenes.
Days after the ceremony, the Prince of Wales posted a series of photos taken during the rehearsal for the Earthshot Prize Awards on the official Instagram account he shares with his wife, Kate Middleton.
The first slide is a striking black-and-white photo of Prince William standing alone under a blazing spotlight on stage. A gorgeous snapshot indeed. The pic that follows is a wide shot of the royal dad of two smiling and standing in front of a microphone on the awards show stage.
The caption read, “Rehearsing for the @earthshotprize Awards earlier this week…” alongside a planet and green heart emoji.
This is not the first time we’ve seen a powerful photo of the prince standing solo. Back in April, William and Catherine posted the photos taken during the Anzac Day ceremony held at Hyde Park in London.
The post featured a haunting picture of the royal prince standing alone at dawn and bowing his head in a moment of silence.
