First, Kate Middleton stepped out for an official visit after completing chemotherapy treatment. Then, Meghan Markle rocked a trendy bustier top when she attended an event for her haircare line. And now, Prince William is the latest royal family member to make an unexpected appearance.

Yesterday, the Prince of Wales, 42, surprised fans by posting a rare selfie video on behalf of himself and his wife, also 42. The clip featured Prince William sharing words of encouragement for rugby star Kevin Sinfield, who has pledged to run 200 miles in honor of his late teammate Rob Burrow.

“Catherine and I just want to wish you the best of luck for what's going to be a very grueling week raising money and awareness around MND,” Prince William says in the video.

The caption read, “Another remarkable feat for a remarkable human being. Wishing Kevin Sinfield the best of luck with his latest #7in7 challenge for @mndassoc, we know you’ll do Rob’s memory proud.”

Prince William’s ever-changing beard has become the norm as of late. It all started back in August when the royal sported a scruffy beard in a video where he and his wife, Kate Middleton, thanked the Olympic athletes from Team Great Britain. Since then, he has continued to flaunt different lengths of facial hair, ranging from none at all to a full beard.

The Prince of Wales admitted that his daughter, Princess Charlotte, was brought to tears by his new look. “Well Charlotte didn’t like it the first time,” he said. “I got floods of tears the first time I grew a beard, so I had to shave it off. And then I grew it back.”

Long live the scruff.
