This year's Earthshot Prize Awards are less than 24 hours away, and no one is more stoked than Prince William. The 42-year-old royal has already taken to Instagram to document his arrival to Cape Town, South Africa, where the ceremony will be held, and he joined a few young environmentalists for a friendly game of rugby. But now, the Prince of Wales is promoting the big event with the help of a surprise celebrity.

On Instagram, the late Steve Irwin's son, conservationist Robert Irwin, shared a video of his morning hike with Prince William at Signal Hill. In the footage, the royal teases the upcoming ceremony and even makes a rare mention of his three kids, Prince George (11), Princess Charlotte (9) and Prince Louis (6).

Robert captioned the post, "A wonderful morning for a hike on the stunning Signal Hill, Cape Town, discussing the amazing conservation work happening here! I’m honored to be part of the @Earthshotprize family, and can’t wait for the Awards tomorrow night."

In the video, William shared that he was having a "lovely time" in South Africa and looking forward to the Earthshot Prize Awards. Then, when Robert asked the prince if he had a favorite African animal, he had to ponder for a bit. He said, "It's a really tough question...my children ask me this regularly. I think I'm going to have to say the cheetah. Fantastic animals."

In the comments, one fan wrote, "Two incredible humans, always trying to make the world a better place." Another wrote, "The Prince of England and the Prince of Australia in one shot."

It comes as no surprise that the royal's three children love to ask him this question, given their passion for wildlife and nature. In fact, if you recall, Kensington Palace released rare footage of the trio chatting about animals with Sir David Attenborough back in 2020. They asked the natural historian a few questions about wildlife, and Charlotte even revealed that she's a big fan of spiders.

In the clip, which was filmed in the gardens of Kensington Palace, Charlotte says, "I like spiders. Do you like spiders too?" The historian then replies that he loves them, calling the hairy insects "wonderful things." (FYI, this marked their first time ever speaking on camera.) Also, did I mention that Prince William partnered with The Royal Foundation to launch United for Wildlife, an organization that aims to end the illegal wildlife trade? (Per the official website, they are fighting to save endangered species like elephants, rhinos and tigers.)

Now, if only I could see footage of the royal kids interviewing their dad about wildlife. (Hey, I can dream.)
