Over the years, the British royal family has become a global treasure. Sometimes their popularity is a positive thing, like when everyone rallied around Kate Middleton after she announced her cancer diagnosis. Other times, the attention can be too much to handle (looking at you, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle). Still, I never realized how strongly the public feels about Prince Harry and his brother, Prince William.
Poll Reveals Which Royal Brother Americans Like Best, Prince William or Prince Harry
The results may surprise you
YouGov conducted a poll that surveyed Americans about their views on members of the British royal family. The company calculated a percentage based on how many people have a favorable opinion of each royal, and the results are quite telling.
To my surprise, Prince William beat out his brother with a 58 percent favorability rating. Prince Harry was right behind him with 53 percent, meaning just over half of those polled have positive opinions about the Duke of Sussex. (#Ouch)
Of course, Prince Harry and Prince William weren’t the only members of the royal family (both living and deceased) on the list. To no surprise, Princess Diana topped the poll with a 76 percent favorability rating, followed by Queen Elizabeth II (67 percent). However, I was quite surprised to see that Kate Middleton (52 percent) was ranked fifth behind her husband and brother-in-law.
As for the least favored royals, the list was rounded out by Markle (46 percent), King Charles (42 percent), Prince Edward (37 percent) and Queen Camilla (30 percent).
Don’t worry, Prince Harry. It was a close race.
