Prince William is taking a moment to wish his father, King Charles, a very happy birthday on social media.
Just a few hours ago, the Prince of Wales, 41, posted a celebratory slideshow on the official Instagram account he shares with his wife, Kate Middleton, 41. The tribute post starts with a throwback pic of the father and son smiling on one of their ski trips. In the second photo, the king is smiling in a blue suit.
And the third snap shows the monarch and his wife, Queen Camilla, waving on the Buckingham Palace balcony while joined by William, Catherine and the couple’s three kids: Prince Louis, 5, Princess Charlotte, 8, and Prince George, 10.
Prince William and Princess Catherine wrote a note to the king in the caption, which read, “Wishing His Majesty The King a very happy 75th birthday! [birthday cake emoji]”
But the birthday tributes didn’t stop there. To commemorate his special day, the royal family dedicated a special montage video to the king, which was posted on Instagram earlier this morning.
At the beginning of the clip, a birthday card pops up on the screen and it says, “Happy Birthday Your Majesty” with the number “75” in the middle. This is followed by dozens of photo highlights of the king’s life, from when he was born to the present day.
The caption read, “Wishing His Majesty The King a happy 75th birthday,” alongside a crown and cake emoji.
