In honor of Father’s Day, Prince William, 41, entered the royal photo archives to retrieve an adorable throwback pic of himself and his father, King Charles, 75, which was featured in a special Father’s Day post he shared on social media yesterday.

In the rare snap, a young Prince William is kicking around a ball with his dad, who is smiling down at his son and donning a gray suit with a collared shirt, a black necktie and brown loafers.

Meanwhile, the future Prince of Wales can’t stop cheesing while sporting blue denim overalls with a blue and white striped shirt and dark navy shoes. The personally written caption read, “Happy Father’s Day, Pa,” and the father of three signed with his initial, “W.”

This touching post comes a day after Prince William marked the annual Trooping the Colour alongside his dad and the rest of the British royal family. During the iconic “Balcony photo,” the Prince of Wales was joined by his dad and his wife, Kate Middleton, who made her long-awaited return to the public eye following her cancer diagnosis.

While standing on the Buckingham Palace balcony, the Prince and Princess of Wales were also joined by their three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis (who stole the show with his funny faces and dance moves).

During the family photo, King Charles was also joined by his wife, Queen Camilla, 76, who rocked a pale green silk crepe coat dress by Anna Valentine and a hat by Philip Treacy.
