Prince William, Kate Middleton and their kids put on a united front during the holidays. Not only did they steal the show at Princess Catherine’s Christmas concert, but they also wore coordinating blue-and-green outfits on Christmas Day. I was so distracted by the details (including Princess Charlotte’s hair) that I nearly missed the sweet gesture the Prince and Princess of Wales used with their children.
I Was So Distracted by Princess Charlotte’s Hair at Her Latest Outing That I Missed Kate Middleton’s Surprise Move
Prince William and Princess Catherine were being supportive
Last month, the Wales family stepped out for Christmas morning service at Sandringham Church. When they arrived, the royal parents showed support for their three kids—Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, 9, and Prince Louis, 6—with a subtle move.
When Prince William was photographed with Prince George, he was seen putting his hand on the young royal’s back.
The Prince of Wales used a similar move with Prince Louis, but due to the height difference, he opted for his son’s shoulder.
Meanwhile, Princess Catherine did the same thing with Princess Charlotte.
It could be a total coincidence that both Prince William and Princess Catherine used the same move on their children. However, I wouldn’t be surprised if the kids were nervous to step out in front of a large crowd, especially after the difficult year they had. Perhaps a simple hand on the back is a nonverbal reminder that their parents aren’t going anywhere.
