Kate Middleton and Prince William just shared a never-before-seen photo, and I’m embarrassed to admit that I nearly missed it.
This week, Hello! magazine pointed out that the Prince and Princess of Wales updated the cover photo for their August highlight, titled “AUG.” (Highlights are Instagram Stories that have been saved and categorized by the account owner, and they can be found directly below the bio—as pictured below.)
Upon seeing the report, I immediately headed to the Prince and Princess of Wales’s Instagram page and confirmed that they did, in fact, change the picture. The cover image now shows the royal couple repping “Team GB” polo shirts—Prince William is wearing a gray tee, and Princess Catherine is sporting navy.
The photo was likely taken during the summer, shortly after the conclusion of the Paris 2024 Olympics. As Hello! magazine noted, the timeline aligns with Prince William’s varying facial hair over the past few months, since he isn’t rocking his current scruffy beard.
Princess Catherine has slowly returned to royal duties after she announced last month that she’s completed chemotherapy treatment. At the time, the Princess of Wales shared a three-minute long video on social media, where she gave a candid update about her cancer journey.
While the photo update could be standard procedure, I’ll take it as a good sign of more joint appearances to come.
