Prince William, 41, marked his return to royal duties by stepping out and making a special appearance at London’s Air Ambulance Charity Gala Dinner on Wednesday. While at the event, the Prince of Wales took center stage and delivered a speech. And during his public address, the royal touched on Kate Middleton and King Charles’s health.
The father of three began his speech by thanking well-wishers for their encouraging messages during this difficult time for the royal family. FYI, Princess Catherine is currently recovering from undergoing abdominal surgery.
Meanwhile, King Charles is receiving medical treatment for his cancer diagnosis, which was revealed earlier this week by Buckingham Palace. (The cancer was discovered after the monarch was admitted into the hospital for his enlarged prostate.)
“I’d like to take this opportunity to say thank you, also, for the kind messages of support for Catherine and for my father, especially in recent days,” William said to the crowd, according to People. “It means a great deal to us all.”
