They were the Prince William screams heard round the world (or at least seen round the world).
Earlier this month, photos of the Prince of Wales, 42, celebrating at a series of soccer games went viral—and with good reason. The future monarch's reactions to watching Team England play in the 2024 EURO quarterfinals were, um, a bit wild. (It's all good, Will. I love an enthusiastic sports fan as much as the next person.)
And though Prince William's reactions (of which there were many) might seem surprising from the normally reserved royal, true royal fans probably saw this coming.
Back in 2012, London hosted the Olympics and Prince William, Kate Middleton and Prince Harry were in attendance at a number of the events. There were many photos snapped of the trio at the time—including one particularly striking image of Princess Catherine and Prince Harry. And in quite a few pics, Prince William's love of sports was on full display.
The future king and queen consort celebrated extra hard while watching day eight of the Olympics at Olympic Stadium.
William's wide-mouth scream and waving arms might look familiar to those who saw his recent soccer game reactions.
The now-Prince of Wales also cheered while watching British long-distance runner Mo Farah.
At a separate event, the formerly close royal trio can be seen throwing their arms up and yelling for British cyclist Chris Hoy.
And perhaps my favorite moment involving the sports fanatic/future king? On day six of the Olympics at the Velodrome, Prince William held his wife tightly while the crowd cheered around them. (Who doesn't love a royal PDA moment?)
Will the prince finally tone down his enthusiasm when he eventually takes over the British throne? I certainly hope not.
