Prince William Is All Decked Out in Camo for Latest Appearance
A different look for the prince
The moment was documented on the Instagram account Prince William shares with his wife, Kate Middleton, 41. The caption read, “A memorable hands-on introduction to the Mercian Regiment as its Colonel-in-Chief. A real education ‘in the field’ and understanding the work of modern infantry in the @britisharmy.”
Prince William was appointed to this role in August by his father, King Charles III, 75. This was his first time visiting the 1st Battalion Mercian Regiment and he certainly looked the part.
According to the BBC, the prince used his visit to observe an attack exercise, and he got to ride around in a Warrior armored fighting vehicle. One captain, Matthew Camp, told the outlet, “[The prince] was interested to see how the soldiers' lives were affected by the deployments and how they can manage both their private life and professional life.”
The prince has substantial military experience, having trained at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst and served with the Blues and Royals and the Royal Air Force Search and Rescue Force. He also worked as a full-time pilot for the East Anglian Air Ambulance, often dealing with critical care cases.
In 2017, Prince William assumed full-time royal duties, but he still stays connected to the military. In addition to this new role, he is also Colonel of the Regiment of the Welsh Guards.
You blend right in, William.
