So much for a royal father-son reunion

While Prince Harry has already flown back to the U.K. to mark the 10th anniversary of the Invictus Games (which he launched in 2014), royal admirers (like myself) should not expect a father-son reunion between the Duke of Sussex, 39, and King Charles, 75, who is receiving medical treatment for his undisclosed type of cancer.

According to People, it has been confirmed by a spokesman for the royal spare that he won’t be able to see his father this week due to the monarch’s busy work schedule

“In response to the many inquiries and continued speculation on whether or not The Duke will meet with his father while in the U.K. this week, it unfortunately will not be possible due to His Majesty’s full program. The Duke, of course, is understanding of his father’s diary of commitments and various other priorities and hopes to see him soon,” Prince Harry told the outlet through his spokesperson.

Last month, King Charles marked his return to royal duties by visiting the University College Hospital Macmillan Cancer Centre in London while accompanied by his wife, Queen Camilla

One photo taken during the outing showed His and Her Majesty smiling and greeting royal fans standing outside of the cancer facility.

Back in February, Prince Harry sat down for a surprise interview with Good Morning America and shared that he got a chance to visit his father shortly after his cancer diagnosis was revealed. While talking to the outlet, the Duke of Sussex revealed that he had to see his father as soon as possible, telling ABC News reporter Will Reeve, “I jumped on a plane and went to go see him as soon as I could.”

When asked about their one-on-one meeting, the spare said, “Look, I love my family. The fact that I was able to get on a plane and go and see him and spend any time with him, I’m grateful for that.”
