Newly Resurfaced Throwback Photo Highlights Prince Harry’s Close-Knit Relationship with Queen Elizabeth

Prince Harry has always had a close relationship with his grandmother, Queen Elizabeth. And this photo is proof.

A rare throwback picture of the Duke of Sussex has recently resurfaced, featuring a young Prince Harry walking alongside the queen and his great-grandmother, the Queen Mother.

In typical English fashion, the weather didn’t cooperate for the royal family, so Prince Harry brought a see-through umbrella to combat the rain. But instead of holding it over his own head, the young royal used it to shield his grandmother from getting wet.

Fan account Sussex Daily (as pointed out by Hello! magazine) shared the photo on Twitter and wrote, “#PrinceHarry has always been that person.”

Users immediately chimed in with supportive messages about the long-lost photo. One person wrote, “Protecting his grandmother, always!” Another added, “Always. He has never waivered. I love this for him.” Someone even referenced Harry’s wife, Meghan Markle: “He love and protect his children fiercely and he adore his wife. Harry is a good man.”

Last month, Prince Harry went to see Queen Elizabeth in England ahead of the Invictus Games. The surprise visit took place on April 14, which just so happens to be Maundy Thursday. The religious holiday—which is sometimes called Holy Thursday or Sheer Thursday—holds a special meaning to those who follow the Christian calendar because it focuses on forgiveness. Coincidence? We think not.

Never change, Prince Harry.
