Prince Harry is taking a page out of Prince William and Kate Middleton’s royal handbook.
Today, the Duke of Sussex, 40, attended WellChild Awards, which took place at the Royal Lancaster in London. The royal not only looked dapper in a classic black suit with a white shirt and baby blue tie, but he also demonstrated the Prince and Princess of Wales’ go-to parenting move while chatting with the children and their families.
WellChild shared a series of videos on its Instagram Story, featuring Prince Harry taking a page out of Princess Catherine’s book by bending down to meet the children’s eye level. The parenting move creates a safe and comfortable environment for the kids to talk freely because he’s speaking on the same plane and with plenty of eye contact.
In case you didn’t know, the Duke of Sussex was a guest of honor at the annual event. Prince Harry has been a long time patron of WellChild, a charity that supports seriously ill kids and young people with disabilities. It’s also one of the causes he’s continued to support since stepping back from royal duties in 2020.
PureWow previously reported that Prince Harry would return to the U.K. for the WellChild Awards. Prior to arriving in London, the Duke of Sussex stopped in New York for the U.N. General Assembly’s High-Level Week and Climate Week. His trip to NYC also included a sweet nod to his late mother, Princess Diana, because he teamed up with The Diana Award, a charity created in her memory that empowers young changemakers.
