Prince Harry is taking on a new position that seems right up his alley.

According to Hello! Magazine, the Duke of Sussex, 39, has become a member of the Board of Directors for the conservation organization, African Parks. Per the website, the non-profit aims to accomplish the “rehabilitation and long-term management” of national parks.

The update has already been made to his bio on the official website, which reads, “In 2023, after serving six years as President, he was elevated to an officially appointed member of the Board of Directors, the governing body of the organization.”

The biography also made a point to highlight the royal’s past work. “The Duke has dedicated his life’s work to advancing causes that he is passionate about, and that bring about permanent change for people and places,” the website continued. “For over two decades, he has taken a deep personal interest in frontline conservation projects across Africa that work to protect the region’s natural resources and wildlife, for the benefit of local communities.”

Harry first partnered with African Parks back in July 2016, where he helped launch the 500 Elephants project in Malawi, which is hailed as one of the biggest elephant translocations in conservation to ever happen. Since then, the father of two has maintained a close relationship with the South African organization.

Harry’s deep love for Africa can be traced back to his childhood. When he was younger, he accompanied his late mother, Princess Diana, to the continent. And in July 2022, the duke delivered a touching speech to the United Nations General Assembly in New York to honor the late Nelson Mandela.

While onstage, Harry shared how visiting Africa has always made him feel closer to his mom. “I’ve always found hope on the continent. In fact, for most of my life, it has been my lifeline, a place where I have found peace and healing time and time again,” he said. “It’s where I’ve felt closest to my mother and sought solace after she died, and where I knew I had found a soulmate in my wife.”

Congratulations on the new role, Prince Harry!
