Pack your bags, royally-obsessed fans, because the 2027 Invictus Games is headed to the U.K. Though Prince Harry is expected to be in attendance, one question remains: Will Meghan Markle attend the annual event with her husband in the U.K.?

According to The Telegraph, the international sporting event (which was founded by the Duke of Sussex in 2014) will be held in Birmingham in July 2027. It’s worth noting that the U.K. city was chosen as the official location after winning against Washington D.C. in a bidding competition.

So, will the Duchess of Sussex attend the 2027 Invictus Games in the U.K.? As reported by The Telegraph, it is speculated that the 42-year-old royal will miss the event due to the fact that her husband, Prince Harry, doesn’t have security in the U.K.

Back in February, Prince Harry ultimately lost a High Court challenge against the U.K. Government over his right to “state-funded police protection” and has made limited trips to the U.K. since then. For instance, the royal spare, 39, flew across the pond earlier this year upon learning of his dad King Charles’s cancer diagnosis. And the father of two returned home in May to celebrate 10 years of the Invictus Games at St. Paul’s Cathedral.

Shortly after the location for the 2027 Invictus Games was revealed, Prince Harry shared a written statement that read: “Congratulations to Birmingham, UK, on winning the bid to host the Invictus Games 2027. Your city’s strong ties to the Armed Forces community made it a formidable contender from the very start. Over the years, we’ve seen each city bring a unique spirit and vision to life for competitors, their families, and spectators. We have no doubt the people of Birmingham will join in celebrating the unwavering respect and admiration we have for our veteran and service community, showing the world how their courage ignites hope and unites us all—something your city knows well.”

So will Meghan Markle attend the 2027 Games? We’ll have to wait and see.
