Prince Harry learned the hard way that seemingly innocent pranks can have long-lasting effects.

In a newly resurfaced excerpt from his memoir, Spare, the Duke of Sussex, 39, revealed that he made a “supremely stupid” decision when he was a student at Eton. Prince Harry recalled the time he let his classmates shave his head in what was supposed to be a harmless prank

He wrote, “My hair never fully recovered after letting my Eton classmates shave it off.”

Prince Harry admitted that it didn’t grow back well. In fact, the style was quite uneven. He added, “Some strands stood up like summer grass, others stuck to my head like lacquered hay.”

The aftermath was so bad, it earned him his nickname “Spike.”

This isn’t the first thing we’ve learned from Prince Harry’s memoir. In another excerpt, the Duke of Sussex revealed that he made the mistake of watching Meghan Markle’s love scenes in Suits. He admitted that he didn’t enjoy watching Markle, 42, be intimate with Patrick J. Adams (who plays Mike Ross), even if they were acting.

He said, “I’d witnessed her and a castmate mauling each other in some sort of office or conference room... It would take electric-shock therapy to get those images out of my head. I didn’t need to see such things live.”

Prince Harry explained that these intimate scenes were often monitored by the palace, which affected the writing process. “The show writers were frustrated, because they were often advised by the Palace comms team to change lines of dialogue, what her character would do, how she would act,” he said.

Lesson learned.
