The Duke of Sussex will be headed to the Big Apple in late September to attend a speaking engagement during the Clinton Global Initiative (CGI) Annual Meeting, an event curated by former President Bill Clinton. Other notable figures set to be in attendance are actors Matt Damon, Sophia Bush and television personality Ginger Zee, as well as founder of the World Central Kitchen, celebrity chef José Andrés.

The event, which is projected to run from September 23rd to the 24th, is set to focus on "What's Working." According to People, the conference will address "climate resilience, global health equity, gun violence, the protection of journalists, humanitarian crises and other pressing global challenges."

Clinton explained to the Associated Press that he and his team "started CGI because we wanted to have a meeting where people didn’t just talk about big problems, but where we could roll up our sleeves and get something done." He continued by saying, "It’s more important than ever to be optimistic and realize we all have the ability to make a difference."

It's no surprise that Prince Harry was asked to speak at the event, considering his track record of activism and charitable endeavors over the years, including founding both the Invictus Games and the Archewell foundation. Matt Damon will be attending the event on behalf of his organizations: Water.org, a nonprofit that helps people living in poverty get access to safe water and improved sanitation through affordable financing and WaterEquity, described as "an asset manager with an exclusive focus on ending one of the most urgent issues of our time—the global water and sanitation crisis."

The Duke's visit to NYC happens to coincide with two other events also taking place at the end of September, U.N. General Assembly High-level Week (Sept. 23rd through the 27th) and Climate Week (Sept. 22nd through the 29th.) In addition, he is going to be participating in events for the African Parks, The HALO Trust, The Diana Award and Travalyst.

It is worth noting that Prince William's Earthshot Prize, which will be holding its annual Innovation Summit, will also be taking place around the same time on September 24th. We are unlikely to see a royal reunion, however, as the future king is not planning a trip to the U.S. for the event.
