You’ll Never Guess How Prince Harry Is Combating the Summer Heat

Prince Harry revealed he has his own unique way of beating the summer heat.

The 34-year-old Duke of Sussex just penned a cheeky letter to Australian wheelchair Paralympian Dylan Alcott following his victory at Wimbledon in the quad wheelchair singles finals. It was sentimental, it was congratulatory, and it was very Prince Harry. Why? Well, he joked that he’s been getting through the uncharacteristically hot U.K. weather by wearing—wait for it—a pair of budgie smugglers (aka Speedos). Harry and Alcott received said budgie smugglers while doing a joint interview at the 2018 Invictus Games in Sydney, so it seemed fitting he mention it.

Luckily, Alcott shared a photo of Harry’s silly note on Twitter. He captioned it, “Pen pals with the Duke of Sussex himself—Prince Harry…What an absolute legend…Also very impressed he watches the @TVWEEKmag logies…!”

So, what did Prince Harry write? His letter started off rather professional and read, “Dear Dylan, I wanted to pass on my congratulations for your recent win at Wimbledon and your most popular new talent award! Thank you for the special contribution that you made to sharing the stories of wounded, injured and sick servicemen and women on the Invictus Games Today show.”

Prince Harry went on to commend Alcott on his efforts, writing, “Your achievements are extraordinary, and the impact you have had in raising awareness and changing perceptions of disability is really inspiring. I wish you the very best of luck for the future, on-air and on-court! All the best, Harry.”

But the greatest part of the letter came in the postscript, which read, “PS–I’m wondering if you wore your Invictus Games budgie smugglers on the big night to accept it? Mine have come in handy in this recent UK heatwave!”

Classic Harry.
