From the Remembrance Day festivities to the surprise-filled holiday concert, Kate Middleton is back in the public eye after completing chemotherapy. In fact, a palace insider recently revealed that the royal family is already grooming Princess Catherine to become queen. But what about her oldest son, Prince George, who’s next in line after Prince William?
Prince George Attends Holiday Concert with Royal Fam—But His Body Language Seems to Hide a Big Red Flag
There could be a hidden meaning
Prince George showed very interesting body language when he attended Princess Catherine’s annual holiday concert, titled “Together at Christmas.” The young royal arrived at the event with his parents and his siblings, Princess Charlotte, 9, and Prince Louis, 6. His younger brother almost stole the show with his surprisingly mature behavior, but it was Prince George’s eyes that really caught my attention.
In nearly every photo, Prince George is avoiding eye contact with his parents, his siblings and the photographers. He aimed his gaze at the floor, at the Christmas tree, at the church—anywhere but the sea of cameras and well-wishers.
This continued inside Westminster Abbey, where Prince George was seen having a conversation. He appeared to be distracted by something in his line of sight.
I don’t blame the 11-year-old for showing signs of nervousness while interacting with large groups of people. However, there could be a deeper meaning to his behavior. As PureWow’s senior editor Dana Dickey points out, lack of eye contact in preteens could be a red flag.
She wrote, “When a teen avoids eye contact with you, it’s a sign that they are having some sort of internal disquiet or external conflict that’s making them unable to fully engage with you, as an adult.”
Perhaps Prince George was having an off day. Or maybe he’s finally feeling the pressure of one day taking over the throne. Regardless, he still has plenty of time to master his people skills.
