‘Pitch Perfect’ Is Becoming a TV Series and Sarah Hyland and Jameela Jamil Are Set to Star

Attention Pitch Perfect fans—you've got reason to celebrate! The hit musical film series is making its glorious return in the form of a spinoff TV series on Peacock. And before say that's “aca-amazing,” just wait until you hear about the incredible casting.

It was already confirmed that Adam Devine, who played Bumper Allen in the movies, would be reprising his role. The new show will actually center around his character, according to a press release from Peacock, which said the series takes place “several years after we last saw [Bumper] in Pitch Perfect” and will follow the character as he “moves to Germany to revive his music career when one of his songs becomes big in Berlin.”

While that tidbit already had us intrigued, we just learned from The Hollywood Reporter that two other major stars have joined the cast: Sarah Hyland (who played Devine's love interest Haley Dunphy on Modern Family) and Jameela Jamil (The Good Place's Tahani Al-Jamil) are both confirmed to star in the highly-anticipated series.

In addition to Devine, Hyland and Jamil, Lera Abova will also be joining the cast. We'll also see the return of Flula Borg in the role of Piëter Krämer.

According to THR, Hyland will play Heidi, a “slightly odd American assistant.” The publication added, “While working on Bumper’s team by day, she secretly harbors dreams of being a singer-songwriter herself and moonlights by performing original songs in a Berlin cabaret.”

Jamil, meanwhile, will portray Gisela, “a bombastic and flashy up-and-coming German pop star...Gisela is Piëter’s ex-girlfriend and Bumper’s main rival in the German Unity Day concert. She will stop at nothing to beat him to stardom.”

The Pitch Perfect series will be executive-produced by Elizabeth Banks, Max Handelman, Paul Brooks, Scott Neimeyer, Devine and Megan Amram, who will also serve as a writer and showrunner.

We couldn't be more ready!
