Paris Hilton Has a Date with a Fake Tom Cruise in Perplexing New TikTok Video

Are Paris Hilton and Tom Cruise secretly an item? The answer is no (let's not forget that lavish wedding she had with Carter Reum last November). However, Hilton's latest TikTok might lead some to think otherwise. In a new video, Hilton pretends to head out on a date with Cruise, who is actually played by actor Miles Fisher, but Cruise's face is superimposed onto Fisher using A.I. technology.

This “deepfake” (defined as a video of a person in which their face or body has been digitally altered so that they appear to be someone else) was posted to Hilton's TikTok account, where she wrote, “I always do my own stunts (while always in full glam).”

In the video, the fake Cruise says, “Paris, I don't want to be late to this premiere,” as he's seen putting on a tuxedo. “We got to go,” he adds. Then, Hilton walks in and says, “We should always run fashionably late...it's your night.”

Deepfake Cruise then turns and admires Hilton's outfit, saying, “You are so absolutely beautiful,” to which Hilton responds, “Thank you.”

Toward the end of the clip, we see him wrap his arms around Hilton and say, “I think we're really going to ‘Wow’ the world.” Hilton then asks, “Do you think people are really going to believe that we're a couple?” And Cruise's doppelgänger responds, “I think most people will believe anything.”

At the end, fake Cruise says, “Alright, now we're going to skydive into this thing. You ready?” And Hilton says, “I do my own stunts.”

Fans were certainly perplexed by the video, like one user who wrote, “Omg what is happening.” Another person added, “I'm so confused tbh.” But Hilton confirmed the clip was used with deepfake technology when she shared the video to Instagram and added, “#deeptomcruise magic made with @parishilton @vfxchrisume.”

While it's unclear what caused the making of this video, we'll be keeping a look out for answers.
