Mindy Kaling Slays in Sheer Dress and Oversized Blazer

Listing Mindy Kaling as one of my biggest fashion inspirations was definitely not on my bingo card this year, but I'm happy to report that she inspired me to give my closet a major upgrade. So far, I've seen her dazzle in sequin gowns and bright mini-dresses. But now, it's her recent bold look that's got my attention.

On Instagram, the Mindy Project alum shared a carousel of photos that includes a winning ensemble, featuring a white see-through gown and an oversized gray blazer. To complete the look, she accessorized with shiny silver heels and a Diet Coke-shaped clutch. Referencing Rise of the Guardians, she captioned the pic, "Update! We learned who Toothiana’s best friend is and the answer? May surprise you. (it’s Tinkerbell)."

Per usual, fans were quick to compliment her stunning look. One fan quipped, "The audacity to look this good." Another commented, "Girl, give your stylist a raise."

Kaling also shared pics of her monochromatic look, where she dons a red crewneck sweater and matching sparkly shorts with black nylons. Fans were equally impressed with this festive outfit, and one fan said, "I LOOOOVE the red shorts outfit, definitely using that as inspiration for outfits, ty."

But as much as I do love a Christmas-themed look, I can't get over how she styled her blazer. The oversized jacket adds a bit of elegance and sophistication to her daring look—and this isn't the first time I've seen her use the style trick.

If you recall, in October, the comedian and producer stepped out in a stylish black blazer with embellished sheer lace pants. She wrote, "Thank you @alc_ltd & @andrea_lieberman for an incredible party! The new collection is so beautiful and I can’t wait to see it in your new boutique. What a great time to catch up with friends. I’ve never not worn a bra to Nate ‘n Al’s!"

Several fans approved of the glamorous outfit, and one fan gushed, "Loooove this look!" Another added, "You look so incredible, your outfit and your smokey eye is amazing!!"

And of course, I can't forget about her nostalgic, skin-baring ensemble from March, where she went topless and paired her oversized black-and-white blazer with Bermuda shorts, white socks and loafers. She wrote, "This is one of those looks that would be best photographed with no bra but it was just a 'I’m not taking my bra off' day. Also: never worn Bermuda length shorts? What do you think?"
