Today, actress and producer Mindy Kaling revealed a big secret she’s been keeping from the world over the last few months: that she quietly gave birth to her third child!

Earlier this afternoon, The Mindy Project alum, 45, announced on Instagram that she welcomed a baby girl earlier this year. A new slideshow shared on her page features a candid snap of Kaling’s two children, Katherine, 6, and Spencer, 3, lying down on a blanket with their newborn sister.

Meanwhile, the next slide includes a photo of The Office star holding her growing baby bump. In the caption, Kaling shared the name of her baby girl, writing, “In late February I gave birth to my daughter, Anne. She’s the best birthday present I could’ve ever imagined. When things are hard, whenever I veer towards cynicism, my three kids are such a great reminder of the pure joy in my life.”

The actress continued, “I’m so lucky I live in a place where I could do this by myself, on my own timeline. Thanks for all the birthday wishes!”

When Kaling welcomed her first two kids, she revealed the exciting news in a similar fashion. Back in 2017, the producer announced that she was expecting her first child in an interview with Sunday Today. Fast forward to October 2020, she surprised viewers on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert when she confirmed that she welcomed her second child.

“I’m telling it for the first time now, it feels so strange,” she said at the time. “But I gave birth to a baby boy on September 3. This is news to a lot of people. It’s true!”

Congratulations, Mindy!
