Kaling captioned the post, “When you’re drawing Diwali Rangolis and your daughter leaves with all the chalk.”
In the pic, you can see The Office alum sitting next to the artwork (with an impressive background we might add) while little Katherine shows her back to the camera in pigtails and a bright dress for the Indian holiday. We can only imagine she was quite done marveling at their joint masterpiece.
The author rarely shows her children (aka Katherine and newborn Spencer) on social media but when she does, it’s always a fun anecdote that follows. While the toddler may not be a fan of sharing chalk, Kaling knows when to pick her battles. She previously told PureWow all about staying on top of an unpredictable Kath (especially when it comes to homeschooling).
“About three weeks into it, I just decided to give myself the permission that if she doesn’t want to do it anymore, that I’m just going to be like, ‘You know what? That’s fine,’” she continued. “I think one of the most inspiring things about all of the pandemic is everyone has seen how resilient our children are.”
We’re loving the small glimpse into quarantine life. Keep ‘em coming, Mindy!
