Mindy Kaling Wishes Former ‘The Office’ Cast Member B.J. Novak a Happy Birthday on IG (and Reveals His Playful Nickname)

2023 just gave us The Office reunion we didn’t know we needed. 

B.J. Novak, who portrayed Ryan Howard on the beloved NBC sitcom, celebrated his 44th birthday this past Monday. In honor of the special occasion, fellow The Office alum Mindy Kaling, 44, shared a celebratory bday tribute for her former co-star (who’s now a godparent to her kids).

In the snap she posted on Instagram, Kaling (aka Kelly Kapoor) is smiling and doing a peace sign while sitting next to Novak, who is driving the car. She referred to Novak as “Uncle B” in the caption, adding, “We love you! @bjnovak.”

Kelly + Ryan shippers were also treated to a delightful surprise in the comments section. Novak wrote, “No party is as fun as the car ride home with you.”

This isn’t the first Office reunion to happen this year. Back in April, actress Jenna Fischer surprised fans with a snap of her IRL reunion with her former Office castmate, Ellie Kemper. The photo shows Fisher and Kemper (who played Pam and Erin, respectively) smiling from ear to ear. 

“Look who came by to keep me and my broken shoulder company today! Thanks for the coffee and laughter @elliekemper you are the best! #receptionists,” Fischer captioned the post. 

The Office Ladies podcast host also had a chance to reunite with Rainn Wilson (aka Dwight) on an episode of the show she hosts with her former Office co-star, Angela Kinsey. 

Fischer shared the sneak peek photo on Instagram and wrote in the caption, “My friend @rainnwilson came on @officeladiespod to talk all about the season 7 finale Search Committee Part 2 and also about his new book Soul Boom! Both his interview and book are amazing..thoughtful, inspiring, funny…just like Rainn himself.”
