NBC previously announced that This Is Us is ending after season six. However, Milo Ventimiglia (who plays Jack) is confident that the Pearsons will return for more.
Earlier this year, the 44-year-old actor sat down for a candid interview with Extra, where he discussed the show’s sixth—and final—season. When asked about a potential spin-off series, Ventimiglia seemed pretty certain.
“I’m sure there will be,” he said. “I don’t know who it will be [about].” Perhaps the spin-off could explore Jack’s days in the military? Or it could focus more on the relationship between Toby (Chris Sullivan) and Kate (Chrissy Metz)? The possibilities are endless.
Ventimiglia also shared his thoughts on the series coming to an end after season six, adding, “Given the opportunity to wrap things up in a very thoughtful way with purpose and intention I think is more important and more impactful than just kind of floundering through, having filler episodes just to fill air, to fill space. It feels like there’s more intention, which feels right, especially for the show.”
