Miley Cyrus Poses with Godmother Dolly Parton in BTS Snap from a Special Holiday Project

Miley Cyrus, 30, certainly grew up around a lot of music. Not only is her father, Billy Ray Cyrus, known for his hit song “Achy Breaky Heart” and his feature on “Old Town Road”, but her godmother is Dolly Parton. (It's no wonder Cyrus became such a successful musician herself.) Now, the Hannah Montana star teamed up with her godmother for something festive, which she shared on Instagram.

Parton just released a holiday film on NBC and Peacock, titled Dolly's Mountain Magic Christmas, and her godchild actually makes an appearance in the special. But, prior to the film's release, Cyrus shared a behind-the-scenes photo from the set, where she wrote, “From Co-star to Co-Host @dollyparton @nbc @peacocktv.”

In the pic, the two give wide smiles and Cyrus is seen in a black, halter-style top and white skirt, while Parton rocks a cream robe with her initials on it.

If you're wondering what Cyrus meant in her caption, she was alluding to the fact that not only do her and her godmother star together in Dolly's Mountain Magic Christmas, but they will also act as co-hosts on New Year's Eve, on the NBC special Miley’s New Year’s Eve Party.

The two artists teased their NYE broadcast in a clip (seen above), where Cyrus says, “Miley's New Year's Eve Party is about getting glamorous and dressing your best.” To which Parton responds, “Well, we do that every day—don't we, Miley?” And Cyrus says, “You taught me well.”

In the background of the video, we can also hear the musical duo singing Parton's hit song, “Jolene,” which Cyrus has actually covered in the past.

While Dolly's Mountain Magic Christmas is already available to stream on Peacock and NBC online, we'll have to wait until the end of the year to find what else is in store for this pair's NYE televised event.
