Michelle Williams Is Engaged (and Expecting Her Second Child)

Major congratulations are in order for Michelle Williams—the actress is engaged and expecting! 

People broke the news Monday that the 39-year-old is engaged to the Tony Award-winning director of Hamilton, Thomas Kail. The two are also reportedly expecting their first child together.

The actress was recently spotted at a London boutique shopping for baby clothes. She and Kail, 41, are currently in England, where she is filming the sequel to Venom with Tom Hardy. 

The newly engaged couple met on the set of the critically-acclaimed show Fosse/Verdon. Kail directed her on the biographical series, which won Williams an Emmy award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Limited Series or Movie for her role as Gwen Verdon. 

She was up against Amy Adams for Sharp Objects, Aunjanue Ellis for When They See Us, Joey King for The Act and Niecy Nash for When They See Us.

News of their engagement and pregnancy comes just eight months after it was revealed that Williams split from husband Phil Everum (she told Vanity Fair that she married him in an intimate ceremony in the Adirondacks with their friends and family in 2018). 

The actress also shares daughter Matilda with the late actor Heath Ledger.
