The 37-year-old actress selected a Gavan London gold sequin Gilded Roxy evening gown ($1,595) for the red carpet U.K. premiere. Between its sleek one-shoulder neckline and strappy cross back (not to mention its svelte shape), the dress was eye-catching on a whole other level. The mirrored sequins left Dockery looking illuminated and the bias cut brought just the right amount of drama.
The SAG award winner accessorized the gown with Rupert Sanderson Malory pumps in gold, which are sadly sold out but are still available in a similar bejeweled stardust version ($439). The Malory pump is also a go-to for Kate Middleton, who owns the pumps in navy. The royal connection is slightly ironic, considering the forthcoming film centers on the Crawleys getting a visit from Queen Mary and King George V.
Dockery completed the look with a ton of Cartier baubles: Clash de Cartier earrings in 18-karat pink gold, a Juste un Clou bracelet in 18-karat gold and a wedding band in 18-karat gold with diamonds all over ($6,650).
Dockery forwent her character’s signature bob in favor of slicked-back old Hollywood waves courtesy of hairstylist Maarit Niemela and opted for a golden glowy beauty look from makeup artist Rachel Goodwin.
It may be a big departure from Lady Mary’s noble roots, but we’re really feeling it. Downton Abbey hits theaters stateside September 20.
