In the trailer, we’re introduced to MIB’s newest employee, Agent M (Thompson), who has dreamt of this moment her entire life.
“It took me 20 years to find you,” she says in the clip. “How many people can say that? I. Found. You.”
When a potential global catastrophe arises in England, she’s sent across the pond and gets partnered with Agent H (Hemsworth) of the London bureau.
The movie is directed by Gary Gray (Straight Outta Compton), with Art Marcum (Transformers: The Last Knight) and Matt Holloway (Iron Man) writing the screenplay. Steven Spielberg (Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom) is serving as an executive producer.
In addition to Thompson and Hemsworth, Emma Thompson will also reprise her role as Agent O. To top it off, Liam Neeson will portray the head of London’s Men in Black organization, so cue the intimidating meetings.
The original Men in Black movie premiered in 1997 and starred Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones. Although they aren’t returning for the spin-off, the film will take place in the same onscreen world.
In the wise words of Neeson, “Trust no one.” Men in Black: International will hit theaters on June 14, 2019.
