Meghan Markle Just Taught Us the Royal Way to Wear Leggings

Meghan Markle, at seven months pregnant, looks better than we ever have in leggings and workout gear. There, we said it.

While departing New York City’s Mark hotel to make her way back to London, Meghan Markle wore a thing: black leggings, a black spandex zip-up jacket, a black Rectify hat (in a show of support for her former Suits co-star Abigail Spencer’s show), camel coat and black travel bag.

After a whirlwind weekend of baby shower celebrations with her celeb friends (Serena WilliamsAmal Clooney, Gayle King…NBD) in NYC, the duchess is headed back to London and Prince Harry—and just proved airport dressing can still look regal as hell.

Per fashion blog Meghans Mirror, the duchess is wearing a camel coat, Adidas Ultraboost Sneakers, an Ingrid & Isabel black Maternity Activewear Hoodie ($88), Lululemon Align Tights ($98) and Jennifer Meyer mummy necklace (awww!) and carrying a Cuyana Le Sud Weekender tote with the initial H on it (we assume, for Harry, which either means she’s using his bag or likes to carry his initial around).

Of course, we don’t typically see royals in spandex unless they’re off-duty. For this reason, Markle’s outfit isn’t breaking any sort of (spoken or unspoken) protocol. She’s allowed to wear what she wants in her own private time, and only needs to dress like she’s in line for the throne when she’s attending royal engagements, where she’s working on behalf of Queen Elizabeth and therefore has to look her best.

Although, hellooo: She also looks her best in this outfit, so maybe she could reconsider all the Oscar de la Renta and Givenchy.

Or...not. Definitely not.

Next, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex head to Morocco on Saturday, February 23, for a two-day royal visit...so there's no point in changing out of this airplane-ready outfit, right, Megs?
