Duchess (and former senior member of the royal family) Meghan Markle is working to support higher education and female empowerment, but her New Year’s resolutions are just like the rest of ours.
On her now-shutdown blog The Tig, per Town & Country, the former Suits actress posted that she has the same two resolutions every year: to stop swearing and to stop biting her nails. (How relatable, Meg.)
In January 2016 (before she began dating Prince Harry), the Duchess of Sussex wrote: “These make my New Year’s resolution list nearly (AKA actually every) single year. The swearing comes in lulls triggered by being overworked or feeling mighty cheeky after a couple drinks. And when it comes to the biting of the nails—well, it still happens with a turbulent flight or a stressful day. It’s unladylike. But then again, so is the swearing. Dammit.” (We see what you did there.)
“For this new year, the only thing I aim to do is to approach life playfully,” she continued and said she’s giving up on some loftier goals—like running a marathon and relearning French—for now.
