Just a few weeks after her husband, Prince Harry, got candid about his experiences as a father, Meghan Markle offered some insight into her family's go-to holiday traditions and included rare comments about their two children.

The Duchess of Sussex, 43, recently opened up about her family while hosting a holiday dinner for Afghan women who are a part of Mina’s List—a non-profit organization aiming to advance women's leadership in politics and human rights. In addition to discussing the initiative, which was launched by the Archewell Foundation in 2023, the duchess revealed that the holidays with her two kids, Archie, 5, and Lilibet, 3, are getting better every year.

She told Marie Claire, “I love the holidays...At first, I think as a mom with children, you’re just enjoying having them there, but they’re not understanding everything that’s happening yet. But now we’re at the age where I just can’t wait to see it through their lens every year.”

Markle also explained that the Sussexes are “always pretty low-key” when it comes to their Thanksgiving celebrations, but they also make sure to keep the little ones engaged. She said, “We’re always making sure we have something fun to do. Like any other family, you spend time having a great meal and then what do you do? Play games, all the same stuff, someone brings a guitar—fun.”

The royal added that “every single holiday is a new adventure,” noting the importance of letting Archie and Lilibet experience the “magic” of traditions like trying “great recipes that they end up connecting to a formative memory” or putting out “carrots for the reindeer" at Christmas.

Markle's latest remarks come about two months after Prince Harry shared a sentimental statement about his kids. In October, he told People via a spokesperson, "The best gift I've ever been given is, without doubt, my kids. I enjoy watching them grow every single day and love being their dad."

In addition, the prince delivered a rousing speech at the WellChild Awards and briefly referenced Archie and Lilibet while honoring sick children and their caregivers. He said, "As a parent, I know a little about the emotional rollercoaster of parenting. But when I hear about the care many of you mums, dads, and family members provide, the level of round-the-clock care you offer, the skills you've had to learn and the battles for support that you fight every single day, I am truly in awe."
